Hydra Hydraulic Oil ISO 68

A hydraulic oil at ISO viscosity grade 68, supplied in 20 litre packs.

ISO VG 68 describes a nominal kinematic viscosity of 68 cSt at 40 °C. In a hydraulic system the grade is chosen against operating temperature and pump type — too thin and the pump loses volumetric efficiency, too thick and it cavitates on a cold start.

Hydraulic oils carry anti-wear, anti-foam and demulsifying additives, because entrained air and water are the two things that most shorten a system’s life.

Confirm the grade and any additive requirement against the equipment manufacturer’s specification.
